Valentine’s Day, celebrated annually on February 14th, is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of love in many regions around the world. According to legend, Saint Valentine of Rome, imprisoned by the Roman Empire for performing weddings to soldiers and Christians, had apparently restored sight to the blind daughter of his judge and executioner. He wrote the child a letter and signed it “Your Valentine” as a farewell. In 18th Century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards known as Valentines. In France, Saint Valentine’s Keys are given to lovers as a romantic symbol and an invitation to unlock the giver’s heart.

Antonello Ristorante – Santa Ana have created their signature Italian cuisine with California accents like rustic Mediterranean baked sea bass, tender filet mignon topped with sliced black truffle and an indulgent red wine reduction. Those looking to experience a more casual take on the cuisine can hang out in the Enoteca Wine Bar and order several Northern Italian small plates to share, including selections from a special truffle menu and a very special Valentine’s Day menu.
